Is there anywhere to buy menswear here anymore? Looking for some nicer dress shirts and ties. After Holts closed the only chain alternatives seem to be The Bay and Harry Rosen, which don't leave much to be desired..

I searched the forums but couldn't really find a concise thread on the topic, thank you! I know there are some peggers on here from lurking, good not to be alone in this wasteland.

    Try the following:

    - Danali (Grant @ Kenaston)
    - Vittorio Rossi (Corydon)
    - Uomo Casuale (Corydon)
    - Morrison (Grant Park Mall)

    Cheers,
    A fellow Winnipeg'er

Try the internet as this is you best option (of course lots of places won't mail to Canada). Option two buy a plain ticket and shop on holidays.

Winnipeg is my least favorite Canadian city in terms of culture, shopping etc but the people are real fun.

Try Serafino Falvo on Corydon. He's currently making a MTM charcoal grey suit for me for a wedding. He seems to be pretty good at what he does considering he clientelle. He's a very nice man so if you have some time, go check him out and have a chat.

I think you are all drinking way too much haterade. Winnipeg is great, lighten up a bit and enjoy life.

The Holt's outlet at Portage Place still has personal shoppers who will bring in what you're looking for. Again, the downside is that you can't actually try before you buy, but you can get what you want which is what it's all about.

I'm also surprised that no one has mentioned Hanford Drewitt on Broadway. They have a good selection of formal and casual wear.

    Hello.

In searching through the archives I've gathered that some people on the forum are from Winnipeg and I came accross this thread...

If any of you are still active on the forum, I was wondering if you could...

-reccomend the local tailor(s) you use and include their business name, an address, or a website

-provide any feedback on MTM or bespoke work that you've had done by local tailors

Travelling in order to shop is not an option for me, and I don't really know where to begin in looking for a good tailor...

Thanks to anyone who is able to help.

I am bumping this instead of making a new thread over in SW&D.

I am visiting some relatives near Portage La Prairie this summer, and will likely spend a day or so in Winnipeg. I haven't been in years, the last time I was in town we went to Eatons (I think is/was the name) but that was the only 'shopping' I really did. I think we may have gone down to The Forks and done some shopping, but this was close to 10 years ago.

Are there any places I should check out in terms of more SW&D type offerings?
