Hello all-

Do any of you wear modified wing tips or wing tips with Jeans? Thinking about buying a great pair from Paul Stuart but I want to wear them with jeans?

Also, brown or burgundy?

Thanks,

Mike

You could wear slim balmoral wingtips with slim and/or tapered jeans, and could wear blucher wingtips with straight leg and/or bootcut jeans.

I do a lot of the second, since I don't wear much in the slim/tapered style.

Though it seems to be trendy right now, I have always liked Alden longwings with jeans...

Yea- I am looking at two different pairs that Paul Stuart sells...One is modified one is a classic, both balmorals. The modifieds are more casual and would go well with slimmer or straight leg jeans it seems. Can you guys take a look and let me know what you think? Also, Burgundy or Brown? http://www.paulstuart.com/category_t...headermenuid=1 Thanks, Mike

+1. Or tan, like the Byron in the PS catalogue (I'm referring to the colour here - IMO ghillies should be worn only by those of scottish herritage and with a kilt).

IMO opinion tan looks the best. It compliments very well the yellow stitches in a pair of jeans.

I probably wear this combo 5 days a week. I usually wear jeans from Naked & Famous. It's a terrible brand name, but their jeans have no back pocket logo, no contrast stitching, and fit well.

I love the wingtip with jeans look. Burgundy or brown are good. I prefer burgundy as you can pull it off during the day or night.

Bluchers work well too.

What's wrong with balmorals and straight leg or bootcut jeans? If they are captoes or wingtips I'd say it was fair game. Plain balmorals may be a bit too formal for jeans though. Personally I think it's better to overdress than underdress when it comes to shoes. For example, I think wearing a formal plain oxford with jeans in a casual setting is more acceptable than wearing wingtips or captoes with a suit in a formal setting.

I've often wondered about wingtips with jeans. What is your opinion of loafers or monk straps with jeans? Here are some examples:

Any nice pair of shoes will work with a nice pair of jeans. Maybe except patent leather.

Sure, no problem. I even wear black cap toes with jeans if I feel like it.
