I've got my eye on some wine colored dress shoes (dark red/burgundy/merlot color). Usually a black shoe guy, but figured it was time for something different. I wanted to know what colors are usually worn with this color? Would a black suit look decent or does it just look goofy? I just go with one pair or dress shoes, so the shoes need to be versitile.

Well, you should be skipping the black suit anyway (nothing inherently wrong with 'em, just not a great only suit- charcoal or navy if you only have one), and they'll look good with just about any other color you can think of.

And if you're going to be wearing them on any sort of regular basis, no, you don't want to only have one pair of dress shoes. With nice leather shoes, you want to leave them a day to dry out in between wearings. If you're going to be wearing them to the occasional interview or whatnot, one pair will be fine. Unless it's something like a funeral where a black shoe is pretty much required.

But they'll go well with anything but black. Very versatile.
