Rhone Report is pretty legit.

Most of them are incredibly douchey and pretentious, which is understandable given the content.

I get more from the wine thread and a few books than any type of wine blog. The only exception is Gary V's video wine blog (thing) since he can give some very good information once the theatrics are honed in a bit.

Does that ever actually happen? He had an interview with Kermit Lynch that had the potential for greatness but it seemed like every other time Kermit was going to tell a really cool story, Gary interrupted him with some asinine point. It was still really interesting, but at times maddening.

whnay., check out wineberserkers.com. It's one of the few wine discussion boards still around that has good traffic and isn't populated exclusively by assholes. I find the discussion boards are more useful than the blogs in terms of information, tasting notes, etc. They are also great resources for dining recos, particularly once you suss out who shares your tastes.

I use Rhone Report but it isn't updated that often - great resource when buying though, although he's not as complete with the northern Rhone as I'd like. For Chateauneuf du Pape his reviews are spot on, I find.

I agree, though I use him more for reference, his day to day things are hit and miss whereas his reports on Bordeaux I always find great reading.

For my obsessions, I like
Bordeaux Undiscovered (somehow he keeps finding things to say about Bordeaux),
Bordoverview (it isn't everyday, but it is most always good when they write), and
Paul Gregutt (for my Washington wine fix).
