I've seen windowpane trousers from Polo Ralph Lauren and Polo Golf. Last summer PRL had white linen trousers with a blue windowpane. I have a grey flannel windowpane suit from Paul Stuart. Those brands are probably your best bet.

Sport coat only? Wuss!

Yup. I leave the suits to the real pros. And considering I work (more or less) within the oilpatch, I have to keep it somewhat reasonable

Suit.

It's a combination of both the pattern and the hand of the fabric.

This is the first time I have seen a silk knot in the lapel button hole. What's up with that?

Seriously? I'm not the first to do so. Don't do it often, but hey, gotta have fun sometimes, right?

I think it's great! Wouldn't mind trying it out sometime -- especially with a sweater vest and a knit tie combo.

BTW I like the colorway of your sport coat. Suit's a bit conservative for me ... architect here ... not in the oil patch ... except perhaps for that time I tried to fix my own car. Different oilpatch.

Find a place that sells Corbin (primarily a trouser maker). They have flannels and hard worsteds in windowpanes; I have a navy

flannel windowpane from their MTM program. Some of the shops that use their MTM also sell Corbin OTR/RTW.

Can I wear this jacket as a sports coat with any success? I'm guessing it was probably part of a suit originally (its a heavy flannel Gieves and Hawkes Made in Italy).

Worst things can be seen, but ideally this jacket should be worn with its matching trousers imo.

Some people in the forum would say flannel is a good material for sports jackets but unless the pattern is bold enough, to me, they belong to the suit category.
