Rumor was that G+H would be the tailor, but apparently military specialists Kashket & Partners got the nod.

Up close William's jacket appears to be a wool melton, which has such a wonderful visual appeal.

Not terribly well fitted - especially that of the now HRH Duke of Cambridge

The back and shoulders of William's jacket are flawless to my eye, as seen in other photos.

yes, I agree.... the red was particularly striking

I was worried when them lookalikes kept appearing on the telly, that William may have worn is grey/blue RAF Service Dress uniform, which many expected. The RAF were probably gutted that only Army and Navy ceremonial and dress uniforms were on display, but they cant compete.

Thought it was a terrific snub to the RAF by William to wear a uniform for a title granted largely ceremonially. However, in the scarlet tunic he did look the part. The other odd thing was that the uniform of a Captain of the Household Division (Harry) looked like he far outranked the Colonel of the Irish Guards (William).

Not really. Rank isn't determined by how much rope you have hanging over your chest. It's about what's on your epaulets and cuffs/gauntlets; and your sash and badges.

Although I do think Harry's shoulder breadth looked much more impressive.

Obviously for those who know where to look, he didn't. Yet to the casual observer... my Italian watching it with me remarked.

Fair point. I actually agree that Harry looked better overall; not just in terms of his uniform, but the black/gold does look very imposing.

Was there much coverage in Italy of the Royal Wedding?
