My new niece's christening is this Sunday at 2 in the afternoon. It's a private ceremony and afterward we're going to a restaurant connected to a golf course that serves mostly sandwiches and bar food (but the decor is that of a nice country club). Most of the guests probably won't pay too much attention to what anybody is wearing.
I was thinking of wearing a light tan, corduroy sportcoat (but it's VERY thin-whaled; you can't even tell it's corduroy unless you're looking closely), white- and red-checked cotton shirt, charcoal (w/some subtle burnt orange accents) wool tie, and the pants are still up in the air. Does this sound acceptably "put-together", or should I stick w/wool jacket and trousers and silk tie?
