I just checked their website to see if the summer sale was still on.
It isn't. I haven't been to the main store in months- I never buy
anything. I actually have a favorite suit and sport coat from them
from the time when Mr Wilkes Bashford's taste still prevailed.
From the website, there is virtually nothing which conforms to
the SF paradigm(s). It's all "Italian for the American (provincial)
Market": narrow lapels, blotchy patterns. The stuff one might
find in an upscale mall in Florida. My guess is that business
in SanFrancisco is good given the closing (in effect) of the Saks
Mens Store, Barneys troubles.Which leaves Nieman Marcus
which does not offer lower end brands, eg. Peter Millar , but
seems to have the identical buyer as Wilkes for the expensive
dreck.

Only been in there once for shoes - to try on JL and GG shoes... also been in the Stanford mall store once.. super nice people but nothing really that makes me want to buy there... unless you want to pay $7k for a kiton rwc sports coat.
