Gentlemen:

I am planning to have a few pairs of flat front pants made. I am 5' 6" tall.

I was wondering what the width of the pants at the bottom should be?
I am planning to have 2" cuffs.

Thanks for your help.

I usually get my pants an 8" cuff in diameter. Some of my pants go to 7.5" and one or two to 9" flair.

I think 8" would probably be pretty good for you at the bottom if you want a slimmer fit.

take a string, pass it behind the heel of your shoe. bring it together in front so that it covers the shoe laces. measure the length of the string. thats the circumference of the trouser bottom.

IMO - 2" cuffs are too much for someone of your stature.

FYI - I'm 5'7" & I have proportional issues trying to carry of cuffs, I'd be interested in see you pics when you are wearing them.

It depends?!

E.G.:

- How big are the lapels?
- How big is the belt?
- How big are your feet?

I agree. At 5'6" your cuff is almost the same as your inseam. Maybe at 6'5" a 2" cuff would look good. I would suggest a 1.5" cuff max. Good luck

Tim
