Hey, My foot measurements are 10 with a high in-step, although I've worn many 10.5D New Balance sneakers and one pair of cheap Bostonian dress shoes that fit comfortably. Additionally, the hideous Bruno Magli shoes that had earned me a fair share of derision, fit comfortably. However, I've had to steer away from A. Testoni, Dolce and Gabbana, etc. because they run too narrow. Would that apply to Cesare Paciotti too? Does his shoes usually run on the narrow side? His offerings are a bit garish, but I, by no means, am attracted to something of this nature: http://www.yoox.com/item.asp?sec=1&Y...K&sts=sr_men80 Forget Goodyear welting. That looks if it were run over by a Goodyear tire!

i have fairly wide feet, so i just size up 1/2 a size and it works fine. true 8, get an 8.5, tie the laces a bit tighter.

Thanks, is that with regard to Paciotti? Because that did not work with Dolce and Gabbana.

I have the same high instep problem. I think my natural size is an 11E, although about 50% of the time I can fit my foot on 11D. A good example that works well for me is the Martegani 3B last (i.e. Sorrento). It was a little snug at the beginning but it molded to my feet quite well. I recently acquired a pair of Ferragamo Tramezzas in 11EE (Sguardo) since I had heard that Ferragamo's runs narrow, but they were surprisingly wide. But one of the best fitting shoes I’ve found is not Italian, but Spanish – Magnanni. Although Spanish, their shoes have an Italian flavor. I have a pair of wholecuts that are surprisingly flexible and comfortable and with a very high instep. Most people here dismissed them, but at the price I paid, I don’t think I’ve found a better value in terms of looks and comfort. Some of their new models are frankensteinish (tumor on the side), but they have more traditional models.
