1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

The collar will tell you the type of knot and the width of the tie. Much less respect to the size of the individual or lapel. All factors should be considered when buying a tie, none more so than the collar you will be wearing it with.

In regards to 'fads' and 'trends': if you are silly enough to buy into whatever GQ is selling at the moment, you lack style to begin with. True style needs to be two things always: timeless and organic. GQ has great ideas and i am actually a subscriber, however, they are only good for ideas to incorporate INTO your own style, not to dictate your entire look. If your wardrobe is changing every five years with the covers of the magazines, that is your problem. Be original and know yourself. True to what works and what doesn't. Stick to that and your clothes will last you a life time, rather than till next spring. Buy ties that you like and look good on you, skinny - wide, does not matter (and your collar) this thread is moot ~ end of story.

There was a great article in GQ on vintage and a part of it referenced a guy who had been wearing an Hermes blazer for 20 years. It was just as dashing and relevant now as it was when he bought it. However, the elbows had worn out, so he slapped on leather patches and it looks even better! ~timeless.

It is good to know I willl never have to buy another piece of clothing after SF outfits me.
