Hey guys, I"m a 14.5 neck and I usually get custom made shirts here locally, they are regular collar but I'm interested in getting a wide collar. Would a wide collar shirt suit a person who has a small neck like me? Does it matter? I don't wear ties to work, just a dress shirt and dress pants. Thanks for helping a noob

As do most of the regulars here. Just a reference point... and not everybody looks there best in "what they like"

Standard spread for suits, BD's for sport coats is the common mantra here. To the OP- sticking with the classic medium spread for dress and button-downs (in classic proportions) is always a timeless, safe bet.

+1 Very sound advice. You can't go wrong with the classic medium spread collar.

Agreed, although I would advise against point collars in general. Regardless of face type, there is just something that irks me about collar points not being anchored by anything (ie: buttons on a BD or the edge of a lapel on a spread) and just floating on a shirt.

I have the same thoughts. Actually point collars are okay because they're far enough away from the lapels to remain disassociated from them. The semi-spreads annoy me as they feel like they are reaching for the lapels but never quite touching them.
