Why this style from BR has a red stripe around the neck/shoulder?

This is simply a fugly SC with contrast fabric at it's collar offered by an US fashion brand, so, NO, it's not a European style by any means.

Just say no to this one. Lapel is very 'last Tuesday' and IMO very narrow lapels look especially bad in a 3 button config.

That is a red felt undercollar. As you guessed it, it's fabric underneath the collar that shows when you pop it, for whatever reason.

Yes I bought one from AIX a couple of years ago with lapels this size and it looks like crap now. The same with shorter jackets. They're in now but will look out of place 2-3 years from now. Going classic styling is always a better investment.
