Why spend a lot on a belt? All belts look the same to me.

Just for a change of pace, try fastening your belt in a Möbius strip.

Indeed! I genuinely believe that one of our belts (or one from the small number of quality makers around, in the spirit of balance) will stand up with the likes of Hermes and LV and be both better quality and value. I am a passionate believer we need to move away from the era of mass produced rubbish we are in and back to quality goods from specialists who care about what they make, be they cobblers, tailors, saddlers or other disciplines. I hope one of our belts can go someway to convince other people of that as well!

Nice belts. Fully stocked on belts at the moment, but have bookmarked your site for future reference.

I've just bought one of your Cheviot belts.

In 100% agreement with the OP. I have belts that retail for between $30 and $250 and I cannot discern any significant difference in quality between them that would justify the enormous difference in price. Nor is there any true visible difference. You are paying the luxury markup for the brand name, as usual.

Those that say you can't buy a high-quality belt for little money are liars or fools; you can buy Crockett & Jones belts for less than €75 in the boutique, for example.

Those who think it's classy to display "subtle logos" are just plain tards. You may as well stitch a Nike logo to your clothes. Same thing.

Those who think funky braided leather designs by Paul Smith or the H-shaped Hermes buckle are classy and stylish are either tasteless drones or nouveau-riche Russian gang members, because those are the only two demographics who buy that sort of chintzy garbage. I'd wear a $10 Walmart belt before ever putting on anything so repellant.

OP, in the end, 90% of SF members are just brand-name whores. You are on the right track; ignore the 'advice' in this thread at all costs.

While I do think there can be a difference in belt quality I have to say alot of the bolded points above ring true, seems alot of people care what others think of the brands they wear vs the quality they get.

    Charlie,

If I were to send you a picture of a shoe I own, would you be able to make a belt in a matching or very similar colour?

Hi Holy, I can try, and I can send you some offcuts to have a look at. The caveat is we dont dye leather - bridle leather colours are all tanned in as the leather is made, the same as good shoes, so our colour selection is more limited than those who dye poorer quality leather and or mass produce. On the plus side our colours are much stronger and dont run. Charlie

I have now placed my order for a fully lined and raised, Australian Nut colour. [IMG]

Picked the brass buckle to match my huge collection of golden watches, rings and cufflinks.

I can swear I have no shoes to match this belt, a problem which may soon prompt me to ask this forum for advice. [IMG]

Personally I think Australian Nut and Oxblood go quite well together, if that helps [IMG]

Thank you for posting! I'm just coming to the point in my SF evolution where better belts are a must and I've had a hard time finding truly good quality off the rack at a reasonable price point - yours look fantastic and fit the bill perfectly.

I expect to be ordering a few within just the next few days [IMG]

Cross-posting: I also just ordered 2 belts from Charlie which I am eagerly awaiting. He has been nice enough to extend a SF discount which he gave out in the other belt thread for others looking to order. [IMG]
