A three peace suit is not easy to find... Agree with you on that one..

This is a really bad looking three piece suit. Do you think because they knew they were getting dropped they thought they would dress him up like this for a laugh? Shame Dunhill didn't dress Bond. I generally like what TF has done especially making classic choices seem interesting ie cuffs and Oxford shoes. I do think the suits he wears from TF look a tad prissy but thats perhaps being overly critical.

Hmm as far as formality goes I think three-piece suit is comparable to a double-breasted suit. Funny... I have one single-breasted three-piece suit in my closet and two double-breasted. I agree with everyone saying that there are not enough occasions that call for them especially as a student.

This thread is ridiculous, people making up a bunch of rules and associations about 3 piece suits. As been stated before your colorful pocket square and your bright pastel pants will raise more eyebrows. People have seen enough 3 piece suits at least through media so it's not like they're eyeballs are going to melt from the formality of seeing one in real life.

This is where you are wrong. Some people feel like they will seriously melt at any level of formality (not that their feelings are relevant at all), and sadly, can only find freedom wearing flip flops and shorts. As if that was the ultimate form of liberation. I wear a 3 piece to church, and sometimes I'll wear it without a tie downtown in the evenings. Situations like those let you wear it with some frequency, without it being an every day thing or becoming your uniform (and ultimately, that guy ).

Ok some people melt at any level of formality, then what makes a 3 piece suit so much worse to wear than a two piece suit with a pocket square? Your logic seriously falls apart...

Totally agree. Also, how well the jacket and vest fit on you matters. With an untailored suit, a 3-piece would be suitable for older gentlemen. haha. But nowadays these suits are being tailored for the slimmer, younger crowd, making them look good.

I think the key is being confident enough to wear it.
