He looks better in the Nazi uniform.

He didn't always dress like that. I mean, here he was still wearing a good suit. Nothing particularly interesting, but good cut and fit (from the buttonhole and silhouette I'd guess a middle of the road Savile Row maker). I bet he was also wearing OTC (i.e. normal) socks that day. Why is he going out of his way to look like crap now? He didn't even have to wear a suit for that interview, right?

If you look up images of him on Getty Images, you'll see that he often wears J. Crew suits at fancy events.
OK. I doubt he has stooped to the level of a sponsorship deal, so he's probably just being a total snob with those crap suits, which makes me dislike him even more. He's basically telling everyone they're common for caring about basic quality in a suit. Well he succeeded in making me feel vulgar now. Sigh.
Yeah I get that. But it still seems a jarring political statement. I mean, Oprah wouldn't be interviewing him if he weren't who he is, and pretending to be a regular joe with those socks just seems fake to me.
? I don't think most people care about quality suits. Most people don't even care about suits, nevermind quality ones. Or even clothes.
Yeah but look: that guy grew up with the default idea that suits come from a Savile Row tailor. That's true for people of his extraction regardless of whether they care about clothes. His engagement photo above shows that he must have a fair few SR suits in his wardrobe. So he's not going with J Crew as a sort of default "don't care" option. He's doing it deliberately is my point.
It just seems inauthentic that he doesn't wear a SR suit (and normal socks, etc) when he wears a suit. I guess that's what grates a little, at least for me.
Is it any more inauthentic than StyleForum guys who spend all day trying to dress like Italians, Ivy League graduates, aristocrats, old money people, etc?
Really? You can't think of anybody worse? Let me guess, a wealthy background?British aristocracy and monarchy are like. These are the worst ******* people in the world,
