Why don't I fit into slim fit?

Assistant in the shop was baffled yesterday when my body shape didn't suit the shop's slim cut trousers. It's not the first time it's happened by any means either - the fabric is baggy just under the seat (if anyone's read the "On Pants" post it's like fig. E); sometimes there's excess fabric around the pockets too.

Has anyone else with a fairly slim build noticed this before?

Sure, generic slim fit stuff on me is mostly less generous tents, wherever. Just have your trousers custom made or size down/try another brand.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
