    Fritz:

Der Antwort ist einfach. St Crispins has a sexy website with full English translations. Further, the models pictured include some sleek models and some quirky models which appeal to the audience here -- which tends to like such things, gimmicks or not.

Why was Helmut Lang the only ever Austrian fashion designer, to gain international recognition?

Because he designed in a truly international style. There was nothing little-Austrian in his design vocabulary.

Maybe you will achieve greater recognition when gay Austrian fashion reporter/journalist Bruno (Sasha Baron Cohen's next incarnation) hits the screens. Then again this is probably not the kind of publicity you'd want.

For my part, the only reason I know about St Crispin shoes is from Panzer's posts.

I've just never heard of many of these makers and would be reluctant to try ordering long distance unless I had read a favorable report.

I do think that Austrian shoe makers are very skillfull but i do not the chance to see, touch and feel their models....

Scheer,St Crispin (Rumanian) and Vass (Hungarian ,i know...) ,what i do call the mittle Europa shoe makers are offering very classy and classic designs...

When i do go to Vienna ,i will have a look at their lasts de visu...

i have had an interest in St. Crispin's for awhile but recently that interest waned as I recently seen the photos of some rtw shoes on the forum.

the stock photos on their website look unbelievable. and the one shoe that really got me liking them was the one wholecut purchased by Roy H who does not exist here anymore i dont think.

i do like the fact that they use Crust leathers and some hand antique but i dont like the fact that they only use one RTW last. and it is a sort of bulbous round toe last that is sort of reminiscient of F last from vass , no?

crispin's bespoke is unbelievably beautiful though

    Do you know Fred Adlmüller?
Even he was born in Germany (* 16. March 1909 in Nuremberg; " 26. September 1989 in Vienna).

Most famous German fashion designer in recent years (for reasons not necessarily related to fashion) must have been Rudolph Mooshammer.
