Why do some dress shoes and boots have toes that point up?

absolutely hideous.

I think it's to make them look "worn." That whole hobo chic thing - horrible

Those are fairly tame in comparison to others I've seen. I remember one Versace pair in particular from 3-4 years back that actually curled up at the toes.

Charlie Chaplin, ahead of his time. Watch for the bowler and cane to return too.

Actually there is a reason for having some turn up of the toes. If it was not there, you would be tripping all over the pavement and other kinds of obstructions. A good example of this would be a pair of Keds(??) Jack Purcell tennis shoes if you could find a new pair you would know what I am speaking of.

But I have to admit that your examples seem extreme.

The exteme example he posted, though, and others like it are as zjpj said part of the abhorrent "hobo chic" trend.

I've noticed this as well.. I'm not fond of it at all. I also hate the "bulbous toe" I've seen on quite a few of his models. I'm sure they're fantastically made, but most of his creations that I've seen rub me the wrong way.

Holy *%&$! That toe looks reminds me of a boxer's nasty swollen lip I saw on TV the other day.

Man! I would think you'd hurt your feet if you wore those very long! That's going too far to make a statement, no?
