I lot of old chinese men have them (at least where I am from)...they use it to pick their ears.

And probably to snort coke.

A true gentleman will have one of 2 metal collar stays available to use whenever the option presents itself. A quick flip of the collar, removal of said stay, toots, and replace back into collar.

It's a 2 for 1. The initial use and then the second, mild time when you actually smoke the cig.
