Why do my jeans keep falling apart?

Hey guys,

I've had this trend in the last year and a half where my jeans wear out at the crotch or rip at the crotch (after being worn thin) in less than a year. I'd say each pair has lasted about 6 months. What's the deal? This isn't really restrained to one brand -- I think the last few I've gone through have been Levis or Tommy Hilfiger but I don't think that's the issue (unless you guys know something about these brands in particular). My only theory is that my legs have gotten a little bit bigger in the last 2 years (not by much though) so maybe I should size up? But I don't feel uncomfortable around the waist. Anyway, I don't know if this is a common issue or not, but my pants used to last me waaaaay longer than this. It's got me questioning little things like maybe I'm wearing them too high or too low, maybe I sit funny, I don't know. It's frustrating though on a student budget -- I don't buy super expensive but I buy nicer than the 10 dollar pants my friends get, where it's trivial to just throw them out and get new ones. Any suggestions?

I touched myself at night before so I don't see how that could've changed anything.

My junk is gigantic, of course.

No soccer, not these days.

do you think that soft denim is a sign of good quality?

there's you problem right there!

it's probably that you're buying low Oz denim that's overly washed and distressed and poorly stitched so yeah, it falls apart. Buy some APC new standards for $150 and you've got a starter pair of raw denim that should last a few years.

are your jeans the heavily washed kind? i think some of them sit in an enzyme bath the break the denim and the dyes down so yeah them ***** aren't gonna last long.

Honestly the only jeans I've ever had this to are RAW denim jeans since the fabric is rougher, the friction is greater, and it eventually wears through. I've got cheap ass washed Levi's that I work in that I've had for years, and they are with out the crotch holes.

Have a look at the label. If you see the words 'Made in China' then thats your answer. TBH 6-9 months about as long as I expect jeans to last, when worn daily.
