Wait are you referring to pacific islanders like those who reside in Hawaii, Samoa, and other polynesian/micronesian islands? Most of them that I've known have unkept hair. Some consider Filipinos like myself as Pacific Islanders rather than Asians yet most of us have shaved heads. So I fail to see what you are referring to.

I think you mean eastern Asia. In that case blame their popular culture. Drama and J/K-pop stars. They love being trendy.

Those cuts are much more rock-star inspired than "emo." In the case of hte guys in that picture, I think most of them are well-suited to their hairstyle.

I don't know... I'm jst making stuff up as I go along. I saw FF characters long before I started seeing Japenese kids with those sorts of haircuts everywhere. Not that I was really looking, but none of the japanese at my boarding school had those sorts of cuts.

It's kinda what you do with really straight black hair. I am a daywalker though since I'm asian with relatively curvy/wavy hair.

I deal with my stigmatized half-existence by being lazy and simply shaving my head every couple of months.
