I don't see why it should. The padding is in the shoulders. I'd fall at a 38 normally and got a 38 at in my RLBL. The chest and shoulders are fine. I had some added waist suppression/collar lowering that needed to be fixed after the first alteration, but to me the suit fits as it should in the chest and shoulders.

Also I think the sizing up problem might be due to the aforementioned going from a sack suit to a more properly fitted suit. I'd venture a guess that a RL SA and tailor are more likely to get you fitted properly an average department store like Macy's.

Thanks, but I think I should be fine as I'm look for something that is nothing like the RLBL silhouette. I'm looking for a full floating canvas, slim (Blue Label slim/moderately slim), lightly padded/natural shoulder (again like Blue Label), double vent, 2 button cuff, notch lapel sport coat. I've realized after owning both Blue Label and Black Label suits that my preference is for clothes that.

To keep this somewhat on post, I wonder if and when RLBL will introduce another cut besides the Anthony. Maybe the "Skinny G." style; it's impervious to foofing.

I am not talking about the cut, I mean the construction quality will most likely be < RLBL. If you want something that fits, then it's different story. Question though, who in NYC on the MTM side really do natural shoulder?

Just because a suit is tight does not mean it fits properly.

I see what you did there. Read my post again. No where did I say that loosely fitting = ill-fitting. Or that a tight fitting suit = a properly fitting one for that matter.

Oh my... now Isaia is "loose" ? I'm speechless - is this the Ethiopian spin-off of Styleforum?

Teh Iz is not loose, but it is much softer, so (FOR ME AT LEAST) feels more forgiving. It conforms to my body, which all RTW has to do to a degree. With RLBL, I feel I have to fit the suit, not the other way around.

But Isaia and RLBL shouldn't be compared. They strike ME as polar opposites.

When I was buying Isaia stuff a couple years ago, the Euro size conversion was a little uncertain. Some stores called a 52 EU a 40 and others called it a 42. I think in reality it's somewhere in between. That could have changed as I've been out of the loop.

They also have a few different models, which I think are all very nice. About a year ago I was trying on them all on, and the Isaia rep had a very soft new one with the shirt sleeves, the patch pockets, super soft unstructured front. It was nice but I haven't seen it on the forum.

This is now the Isaia thread.

What puzzles me more is why everyone wants to wear the same suits.

Regarding Isaia: I guess the Isaias made for the American market run larger than the European Isaias.

PG - This is perhaps the lest informative thread I have come across here (which is in fact saying something). Fortunately you can draw from your reservoir of good will and suffer no harm to your reputation - regardless of wether or not you will tell us who your tailor is

I tried both 38 and 36 (US), need to have some waist take in for 36, but it just doesn't look that great on me, which line are you talking about? By the way all the Isaia I tried were padded to some degree, non are true natural shoulder, where did you try yours. I was trying it in Saks Fifth and Barnyes NY.
