Why are there no non V-neck undershirts with dropped necks?

I cannot stand the actual V stitch on V-necks, but it is getting cold in the winter wearing nothing underneath my shirts. What should I do? Does what I'm looking for actually exist?

Relatively slim. I wear a 40L suit and have a relatively long torso (about 6'1"). Sunspel mediums fit me well in the chest (close-fitting but not uncomfortably tight or restrictive) and are long enough to tuck, although I could stand them to be just a tad longer.

As a point of comparison, I'd say the sunspel medium's maybe a touch bigger around (although not much) than an AA medium t-shirt, and a bit longer.

Bah. I'm 6'3" and wear a 44L; unfortunately, STP only has mediums, which are probably too small, and XL's, which are probably too big.

Their stock of sunspel tends to turn fairly often. If you check back periodically you're likely to find some L's before too long.
