Why are cotton/cashmere cords so expensive?

I can't figure it out. Cotton/cashmere corduroys (i.e., 90% cotton, 10% cashmere blends) are inevitably priced extremely high, usually well above even 100% wool. And this is consistent across makers. Why are these so expensive, especially when it's only 10% cashmere? Are they particularly difficult to make?

I think the retailers use the cashmere content as a marketing ploy to price these higher.

Retailers generally mark most similar items up across the board, they tend not to pick and chose their markups

The cloth is very expensive. Over double what a 100% cotton cloth costs.

much more then double.
once you start blending different fibers, the mills have to be much more careful with weaving and finishing. the fibers react differently.
different chemicals need to be used in finishing.

cotton yarns need to be much finer to weave with the cashmere. No reason to use cheap cotton with expensive cashmere.

Expensive they may be, but I do not like the way they wear/drape as pants.
