Don't know if anyone can answer this, but after poking around on yoox.com for a bit today as well as the websites of some Italian manufacturers, I noticed something strange and was wondering if anyone had an explanation -- Specifically, why are there lines labeled 'Cerimonia' that are basically like extremely gaudy and flashy formalwear that one would only wear, say, to a high school prom.

For a good example, take a look at Pal Zileri Cerimonia, or Maestrami Cerimonia on Yoox. Clearly Pal Zileri makes some great stuff in its regular lines, but I've seen some pretty atrocious things in the 'Cerimonia' line on yoox.
