why am i having such a hard time selling my charvet tie collection here: X i personally think it i am offering an incredible deal considering these things go for $195 retail and mine are pretty much perfect condition, just no tags! i know i am opening myself up here for all kind of interesting comments, but just like no-one cares about the ties no-one will care to comment here either. to open this to other posters, has anyone else had a really hard time selling good quality merchandise?? (this isnt a free advertisement/bump for my ties.

I can't speak specifically to your sales thread but what I can say is these things go up and down. There are so many reasons why some stuff sells and others don't. It could be the pictures, the prices, the way you arranged it all. Maybe people aren't in the mood to buy ties, or they are but right now there's a lot of oversupply in the B&S. Who knows? maybe they're ugly ties? Also there are soo many options for ties out there between the B&S and ebay. If it were higher ends suits maybe they's sell faster.

good luck with the sales.

A few points from someone who often buys on the B/S forum:

1) Ties are common here, so buyers can be selective.

2) Most of the stuff that sells here is a luxury brand, so that in itself isn't distinctive, or, even a selling point to potential buyers.

3) I come here to buy items that I normally would not pay full retail or that I cannot find at other places easily. That means unique items and more expensive items like suits. I'm not on the lookout for ties, and if I am, it's because I really love the tie.

4) No offense, but the ties look ugly.

Don't take it the wrong way - and I sincerely hope that you sell all of them - but the answer to your question is that, Charvet or not, the ties are hideous. Stomach-turning repulsive.

+1. I wouldn't wear any of those...and I wear a tie every day.

Every single on is repulsive?? Holy sh!t, I thought at least one of them must be decent, and that seems to be the general consensus over here.

It looks like the charvet collection is staying by me

Charvet has low resale value here. Maybe because they self destruct after 5/6 wears

I had a bunch of (no offense) nicer ones, NWT, sold for $29 each after like 5 drops. eBay is your better route.
