There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Side-adjusters with braces - OK or not OK? It's obviously not "functional minimalism" though, so I guess not from this strict point of view?

If you have straight back trousers cut for suspenders, I would get side adjusters in case you do not want to wear suspenders.

If you have a fishtail back, I think adjustors, either the two at the side or one at the back, are superfluous.

I'm considering my first pair. I just took the plunge and got a seersucker suit, and I'm thinking that a pair of suspenders/braces will go well with that. I just have no idea where to get started.

I wear solid Thurston barathea braces with suits all year round, belts with odd trousers.

I wear them practically every day (today - pink rayon fleur de lys pattern with white goatskin ends.) I've never cared for belts and avoid wearing them whenever possible. I find braces aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, plus they appeal to my retro predilections [can anyone tell me what iGent means, by the way?] They have to be the right braces, though - at least 1 1/4" wide, not elasticated, and button fastening. I have about 3 dozen pairs.

Yes, it buttons into my pants.

How does this work? Does it button in the just the front, front and back, or on both sides?

Just in front. I don't remember exactly how it works right now. But I will figure it out and get back to you.

Almost every day, and virtually always with a suit. I find that trousers hang much better with braces, and I hate the sagging pants feeling I sometimes get with a belt. I don't see why they should be considered outmoded as long as they are still functional. I also find side adjusters handy with braced trousers, although that may be because I frequently oscillate between various levels of corpulence.

I only get high-backed trousers with vested suits though - I admit they have a bit of a fusty image for me, even though no one else sees them during the day.

I wear them with every day, with suits, as I've been doing for at least the last 20 years. Have about 25 pair, which is down from the peak of about 10 years ago; had probably 50 pair back then. Thurston's (the special ones designed by Mimmo Spano) and Trafalgar Special Editions mostly.

I wear belts with odd trousers, though sometimes I'll also throw on a pair of braces w/those too. As has already been said and echoed several times, they just do a better job of holding your pants right where they should be.

I have quite a few Trafalgar braces. I was wondering if it matters if the silk/leather end color match the color of your shoes? Some of them are uniquely colored.

    Thanks

I tried wearing them a few times but I found the shape of my shoulders made them constantly slide down which made them fairly uncomfortable. Maybe my posture just sucks. It also didnt help that I was photographing a wedding at the time so I was moving around quite a bit.
