They're Menichetti, but I'm not sure who he's licensed to make the shoes for him. He's a pretty neat designer; he used to do menswear at Jil Sander during the glory days of the late 1990's. Assuming you got them at a pretty good price (I think retail Menichetti's run $395-$500), I'd say they're a decent designer shoe.

Huh. I know that Menichetti designed Burberry's menswear in the early 2000s. Was he at Jil Sander before the eponymous Jil left? I know that after its Prada takeover a Colette menswear buyer named Milan Vukmirovic designed the Jil Sander mens.

Your posse has trained you well, RJman.

He was there before Jil left, back during the first men's offerings in the late 1990's (1997 or thereabouts, I think?). This is why much of his work now looks a LOT like pre-Prada Jil Sander; in fact, many of the Sander fans who were left bored by Vukmirovic and are still ambivalent with Simons have moved over to Menichetti. The quality on his line isn't as good as the original Sander... but they aren't as expensive either.
