hi there!
i'm thinking about buying the loake knightsbridge...
but im not sure whether i could add those shoes to my roation.
by now i have a black double monkstrap which i love to wear with jeans,
a full brogue in black,
oxblood penny loafers,
and suede chukkas.
all of them can be worn with jeans in my opinion and look pretty decent, but im not too sure about the wholecut thing.
does anyone wear them with jeans here?

and another thing!
i noticed that many of you dislike black shoes, am i a bad person, just because i really LIKE them a lot??^^

greets eric

Not a bad person, but you may change your mind as you get older. The allure of browns is in their complex hues. Black tends to be simple. I have both.

Thanks! They are C&J for Brooks Brothers. They don't make them anymore but they were ~$250 on sale.

They still pop up on the BB website clearance section from time to time. Just make sure to size down by half a size since they run big.

I think you have to go high-end bespoke ($3,000 and up).

Personally, I'm not a fan of wholecuts with jeans.

I'd much rather wear a blucher or double monks.

I agree. I wouldn't wear wholecuts, or any type of balmoral for that matter, with a pair of jeans.

As long as they are simple jeans, I see no problem. Overdressing is always better than underdressing.

Whole cutswith jeans looks great! I like brown shoes more than black because they are more pleasing to my eye. I feel like the color is a bit more stimulating. Nothing wrong with black though. I wear both.
