Can anyone suggest a source of johdpur boots? By this term I mean an ankle boot with a strap, not the elasticized gore ankle boot that is sometimes called a johdpur.

Shipton & Heneage have them: Boots Though they are British, they shoip workldwide and the link is to the USD prices. The 'Lambourne' boot should meet the case. I think they are made by Sanders. I have some for wear with Mess dress, and they are of very good quality.

Most of the English shoemakers have one in their range -- certainly C&J and Green do. I expect that you can also find similar things at tack shops, although many of the low boots that are actually made for riding have the elastic sides.

It's a great looking boot -- looks terrific with jeans.

If you're looking for boots for riding, they would be Ariat.

How much do you want to spend? Tricker's has the Chepstow. Edward Green has the Gresham. John Lobb Paris has the Jodphur. Crockett & Jones has the Quorn. Ben Silver also carries this boot, and I've seen it in dark brown suede at Polo, although it appears to be made more to Handgrade standards than the regular Quorn would be (channelled sole, etc.). JM Weston has a version, although I can't find the catalogue right now to get you the reference number. Alfred Sargent has the Childrey and a couple of other models. There are probably other options, too, but that's a good start.

If you are a 10.5 US, there is an Ebay auction for some NIB Johdpur boots for Polo by Crockett and Jones. Bidding starts at $260 I believe.
