Who makes the world's best bedsheets?

I am looking to replace my sheets. I used to use Chrisma sheets before they went out of business. I loved them. Then when they came back, they were not the same at all. Made in China instead of USA and nowhere near as lux.

So I have been reduced to Calvin Klein bedding, and it has proved awful.

Who makes the world's best sheets?

Pratesi is very good.

I don't know if they are "the best".

I'm very happy with Sferra. Their Modal sheets are on sale on their web site right now and are insanley comfortable.

Yes, I would agree with that ....if there really is a brand we could name as "the best".

I really like D. Porthault too.

Yves Delorme is also very beautiful.

Still, it you really wanted the finest luxury possible, you'd probably have to have them custom made -- and embroided by Lesage of course

I don't know. After a certain level of quality is reached, ****** has a problem telling the difference. YMMV.

I like the Sferra 1020TC options, Milos in particular. We also have a set of the Baronessa but they are not as soft due to the jacquard.

+1 on Frette. Beyond a certain point, you're really only paying for details- most of which will never be against your body. I doubt that many people, if any, would be able to tell the difference, say between 600 and 800 thread count.

IMO inexpensive Sateen feels better than Pratesi or Frette and is 10X cheaper. But Sateen wears relatively quickly. For me, I don't need my sheets to last a generation or more . . .

Frette is nice ...it is popular for the high-end hospitality industry -- I tend to think of it as a being for hotels.

I have Pratesi, 4 basic sets that are rotated to keep them new.

A few years ago I had Frette sheets from Bluefly. They felt good, not as good as the Pratesi, but at orders of magnitude cheaper, they really were quite good.

I'm sure you know, but the hotel stuff is different (cheaper and ~200 TC) than their regular stuff.

I really like my Frette sheets. The bottom end is the Hotel Collection, and then there are several levels above it. The best thread count and finish of cotton sheets is the Bicolore collection and most of their extremely expensive pattered collections (all are, or at least were, the same thread count/finish as Bicolore). I bought a few sets of the Bicolore and have been really impressed.
