I've been quite happy with Jack Link's products. I'd like some recommendations. These go very well with a glass of syrah while surfing the internet.

Agreed. Jack Link seems to have the best quality meat. I'm sure it's loaded with chemicals, but it's more tender than the competitors. They even make a beef jerky hash in a tobacco dip-type container.

I like Jack Links too. There's always these specialty small batch sellers, but I think Jack Link as a nationally available brand can't be beat.

I especially like their nugget variety, which comes in all different types of flavor.

Homemade is best, but for my money the best store-bought brand is Blackbeard.

Available at Dark Run Jerky. My favorite style is jalapeno.

Jack Links isn't bad. I like Blackbeard better. Avoid Pemmican and Oberto.

The darkrunjerky.com has 'Venison Jerky' listed under their products, and it looks pretty good.

Though absolutely nothing comes anywhere near close to homemade deer jerky.....

It's ******* impossible to find jerky without preservatives. I hate this.

Where do you live?

In the Southeast, it's not hard to buy some cheap deer jerky off a hunter. Usually it has nothing other than salt and flavorings added in.

Anything bagged and sold in stores is going to be loaded, though.

believe it or not, but Wal-Mart actually makes pretty good beef jerky. bang for your buck, an 8ounce bag is like $5-6.
