They're 'benchmade in Italy,' and I'm wondering if anybody here can enlighten me about who makes them and what to expect in terms of quality. Is it worth it for ~$400 after the 30% discount code? Thanks in advance.

Not sure who makes these, but have you seen these in person? I suggest checking them out if you can. I went to check them out and found them to be a little narrow and dainty looking. I also didn't care for the visible RL stamped on the sole. I'm not against an elongated shoe, but wasn't impressed, especially at the price (even with the discount). I ended up going with the Brooks Brothers Peal & Co. smooth calfskin boot. With 15% off, it was slightly more than the Bauchi would be with 30% off the already discounted price, but it looks like it will last forever. The Peal and Co. boot is made by Crockett and Jones. If you were looking for brown, not sure if Peal & Co has a brown equivalent (I believe there is a Brooks Brothers equivalent that is made in Italy).
