I am trying to find a larger patterned houndstooth SC, with good quality, off the rack. I currently have a brown/tan Belvest but I would like something with a larger pattern size. Does anyone own one of these or know of places I can look? Thanks.

I remember seeing some Etro ones a year or two ago. (sorry I realize that's not very helpful)

I'm even less helpful but I saw someone wearing a great one last weekend. Let us know what you find.

Sure it helps and thanks, I am to the point where I am starting to search e-bay even. I have been looking for a while now, can't find them anywhere.

Something like this? I am not sure anybody even makes a houndstooth this big anymore, custom or OTR.

Really nice Matt. This is exactly what I want, the pattern is perfect and I like the patch pockets too. Is it yours? The hanger looks like the Zegna mtm hanger.

Yes, it is mine. The fabric, I believe, is from the 60s, though.

I bought the hangers (I think they are the same Zegna uses) separately.

Didn't the DOW have a large houndstooth suit in almost exactly that fabric?

Bally has both a SC and pants in large dark brown houndstooth this year. Has been shown in several of their shoe ads.

    If you go
    http://www.bally.com/main/E/fr_principale.html
then click on "collections" the pic on the right has a large brown houndstooth sc.

If you are looking for red houndstooth, Howard has some. Much as I would like to make a suit out of that, even for me, it is a little bold.

    Enjoy.

I had this made a while ago and rarely wear it because I think its too loud.

Interestingly however this season I see a lot of big hounsndstooths around in odd jackets - RL and Zegna being two that come to mind.

That doesn't seem loud at all. It's definitely an awesome fall jacket [IMG]

you should dust that thing off, it's definitely not too loud

it totally needs to be worn with a slightly oversized scarf up top
