Hey Guys,

So I have been looking for a nice blazer with a pagoda and roped type shoulder, but I have had virtually no success. I know Margiela from time to time does a nice shoulder, but otherwise I have found virtually no designers outside of maybe a Tom Ford that makes anything close to that type of shoulder. I was wondering if anyone know any designers that carried that sort of look and if not if anyone knew a good decently affordable custom tailor who may be able to do a good job with it. I had Mr. Ned do a decent job with a roped shoulder, but wasn't in love with the proportions on the jackets. Input would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

This shoulder is not Sf approved

You don't see it often because it is probably the hardest one to do right. Bottega Veneta went crazy with them, this season they've calmed down a bit. Carlo Pignatelli has shown them consistently, and Alexander McQueen loves them (which is funny since he apprenticed at A&S)

+1, I tried the BV ones thinking one of their suits would be a great for a cocktail or party.. NOPE to severe.. Back to CHAN it is for me..

Actually, it used to be all the rage a couple years ago here. whoopee would post his Chans and the crowd would go oooh and aaah. I'm sure if he posted his outfits more often, it would give the current drapististic craze a kick in the nuts

A few years ago, the default Zegna shoulders were pagodas. They've recently been swinging towards a softer shoulder, so I don't know if you can still get them that way.

Thanks for the input guys. I didn't know I had to make sure my jacket question request had to b sf approved per se. I have enough suits with soft shoulders, but I would really like something with a stronger shoulder. So BV and or McQueen. I generally haven't found very much I like from McQueen. How bout mtm or custom types. I know Chan has been mentioned. Do they do a good job? What's the price pt?

Is it just me, or doesn't it seem that pagoda shoulders would be really hard to do right without going bespoke?
