Who in the USA made these shoes for Polo?

I won these on eBay. "Benchmade in the USA" by whom? They are fully lined unlike their English made brethren and a bit less substantial in heft than my AEs.

Methinks they're old. From another century even.

Really? If so, they are in tremendous shape considering that the lettering inside the shoes is completely intact.

I guess, but that just brings up more questions about their origin. I know that AE will not replace insoles when their shoes are recrafted. Does Alden? If not, this is even more of a mystery.

My Alden knowledge is nonexistent. Do they use combination heels like those on this pair of shoes? AEs are all full rubber heels.
