(i'm new here, so if their is a more appropriate section for this post to go, please let me know.)

my wife had twins last year, and with all of their toys and clothes, she and i feel at times like we are drowning in stuff. our solution is to downsize the amount of things we have, including clothes. this has forced us to get rid of (donate) many things we weren't wearing anyway. it's also allowed us to hone in on (buy if necessary) a few versatile pieces.

with regards to my shoes, taking into consideration my current lifestyle and the area/climate i live in, i've decided that a pair of low-top chuck taylors, and a pair of chelsea boots should do. i'm still hunting for the boots (looks like people hold rm williams in high regard).

does anyone else have maintain a minimal collection/rotation of shoes? would you be willing to share what you have, and how you settled on those shoes.

i realize i'm probably not going to get a lot of replies on this forum to a thread asking for the least amount of a specific item of clothing. in particular, i'm sure many of you have footwear in the double digits.

rereading my original post, i guess in a broader sense i've been thinking about a uniform of sorts. a minimal wardrobe of classic, versatile pieces that i can wear "forever" (either because it's high-quality, or because it's inexpensive enough to buy again as a replacement when needed). i want to look nice, but i don't want to have to think about it a lot, much less having to constantly buy new clothes. is that even possible or should i just show myself out of the forum?!

to anyone who took the time to read and/or reply to my (odd?) musings, thank you, and have a pleasant day.
