I have a size 8 or 7.5 (depending on the maker) foot. The ball is spot on with normal, but my heel is about a size or two too small. As a result I go down a size in most shoes and my foot stretches them a bit back up. Of course I also have medium high arches to boot.

Other than bespoke (don't have 3k to spend) anyone have any ideas for shoes? Santoni FAM 7s are a bit too tight in the front, perfect in the rear, 7,5 is perfect in the front, loose in the rear. AE just never seems to fit quite right.

Best I have found so far is a 7.5 yanko, but their availability is suspect so I am looking for other high quality options.

Vass, no luck tried everything except U-last. Alden, I don't remember specifically but they were not comfortable. Loose in some spots, tight in others (not the heels). It was a black captoe that I had tried on if that makes a difference.

No tongue inserts or anything are an option, they feel great for 5 minute then break down and either hurt or do nothing, plus they don't really fix the fact that the heels are too big.

dont know if these are still being made. in the past some manufactures made what is called a combination last. this is a shoe with the heel a size smaller than the forward part. you might contact them and ask.

I haven't had any luck with them, I tried on alden 8b/d and an a/c if I remember correctly. The shoes were uncomfortable. The 8b/d seemed to really be an 8c+/d so the heel was a smidge smaller than the ball (proportionally), and the a/c was too tight in the ball. The Yanko and Santoni shoes seem to have smaller heels without the multi-sizing.
