Now granted, Forbes.com merely spews information towards a relatively sartorially naive public, but even a 5 -year-old will tell you that a store display with a tie at that angle will hardly help sell; nay it may retract from sales. I personally would not purchase items at a store that deals with that much customization without at least knowing that the salespeople can properly dress the store displays. If they set up their displays that way, how can the guidance they are giving you, and for the money charged truly be good advice? I find it odd that they list a "top price". I'm sure one could find some options to push it past that.

Perhaps there's a magnet in the tie...

All of the displays in the store do indeed have ties that sit like that, but it doesn't look quite so pronounced from head-on. I see it as a distinguishing feature, an extreme designed to illustrate the concept of a tie knot that pops. Or, maybe there's a magnet in the tie
