1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thanks for the kind words. Even if they aren't necessarily directed towards me, this is a thread about taste, so I'll take the points.

In the event she turns out to be my sister, I'm going to need recommendations on a good tailor in Alabama.

I believe this is attempt number 3 from me. Obviously a jacket / trousers ensemble again, but hopefully one that passes muster.

Forgive the misbehaving pocket square- it rode up a bit in this photo. Pretend it's an inch lower (and not encroaching on the lapel.)

A smaller, low-quality shot, taken at sundown. Gives a better sense of the tie knot in proportion to the collar.

    Donegal tweed sport coat
    Cotton trousers in goldenrod
    Brown garza grossa tie
    English madder pocket square
    Russet captoes

I think you need pants with better drape and which will hold a crease.

Thanks for the tip, on point as always man. Incidentally; I'm actually living/working out of an island laboratory right now and haven't had access to an iron in almost a month [IMG]. The only dry cleaning shop on the island suffered a fire just before I arrived! Rumpled trousers aside, do you think this worked?

You're wearing a coat and tie to work in a lab on an island so sparsely populated that it doesn't even have an iron?

I mean, I really like wearing coat and tie, but I don't think I'd be wearing either in such an environment.

FWIW, I agree with SB. The pants are the problem here.

Yeah...sc and tie seems a little overkill for isolated laboratory island...unless of course you are a James Bond Nemesis....

    then it seems very fitting....

This is the best thing I've ever seen posted on StyFo and I've gone back to laugh at almost every :foo: post I could find.

These follow-ups were hilarious :) yes; it's a bit absurd, I agree; I persuaded my buddies that we should do a formal day, despite our surroundings. Thanks for the feedback with the trousers.

For the record, this is what a more typical workday looks like for me. Are fluorescent yellow fins in good taste?

@SomethingsFishy, I think the outfit itself is well executed in terms of color combinations / pairing. I agree with others on the pants more broadly, but this thread tends to focus less on fit and more on combinations.

This really looks like a still from an Avengers episode.

Aren't the boots causing the trouser issue?

FWIW I quite like that mustard color.
And only the heaviest, most punishing moleskins hold a crease for more than a handful of wears.
