1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

thanks for the votes of confidence, gents.

    1. i have far from abandoned MC.

    2. despite that, i have decided that posting in this thread is a thing of the past for me, and seemingly, for pretty much everyone at this point.

it was fun (sometimes) while it lasted.

It seems that openly being jaded about Style Forum is the new "hip" thing at the moment. If you're not openly jaded you're not in the inner circle.

This has been true for at least as long as I've been on the forum.

And even longer than that. I'm sure some remember that things were better pre-Huddler, then before they were better pre-Great Crash, etc... it's cooler when there's an milestone to point to to crystallize the before/after dichotomy.

I think around 2006 was the peak of the meme creation with "brown is for farmer", "you like it the lamb", and members like ernest, vaclav, mittal. That's to say nothing of the feeding frenzy at Paul Stuart and Asprey sales.

Who's left to be jaded? Seems like most discussions these days are about acquisitions and affiliates. I'd have thought there was less complaining than there used to be, rather than it being the new fashion.

I think SF lost it's edge with the elimination of Tranny Tuesdays. By Greg's logic of milestone-based dichotomy, it seems that pen0r is the DMZ of Style Forum. If anyone says they're surprised by that they're lying.

Style Forum went downhill when bourbon basted got rid of his American Psycho avatar.
