1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

It's Drakes and it's got a marled, heathery feel and so IMHO it doesn't come off as too tweedy or rough for the suit.

Ah ok - the EGC one I have is very rough. The Drakes sounds like a nice choice for the suit tho.

Completely agree that anything with too rough a finish would be a mistake with this suit. I recently picked up a few of the Drakes unlined Shetland ties and they would be dead wrong. I also don't wear grey ties too often and this was an opportunity to break one of the few I have out.

Drake's and Cappelli have many fabrics in common, so I wouldn't discard it being the same.

This Cappelli is prob the roughest tie I own. Given aportnoy's description, I doubt they are the same.

The Drake's tie is a super soft cashmere, so given Unbelragazo's description of the the Cappelli tie, I would be surprised if they were the same.

Does Panta ever source from the same place as Drakes? If so, I think I have the szme thing. Gray, heathery cashmere and the softest tie I own.

A different weave than the one I have on but eerily close otherwise!

New suit. I like the tie with it, but I struggled to think through pairing the right PS. It seemed like darker tones of brown or green should be the ground, and I only have one that I thought was close to that. Would appreciate thoughts on pairing this.

I have a light gray cash tie like that as well, also got from Ed, but it's not panta and not any brand I had heard of (before or since). It's a nice tie.

Ha! I will admit this was the inspiration for my thoughts on a dark green square. Just don't have one. May have to go looking through gdl's squares again.
