I have a summer blazersuit in 0520, which I mostly wear as a blazer/odd jacket (with brown horn buttons), and only ocasionally as a suit. The trousers can be worn on their own, too. It's a really nice color that I picked out before I ever saw it mentioned on Styleforum - I think if you saw it, you'd know how you'd feel about it right away.

What foo and manton said about it and various blue-navies in suits or jackets in another thread (which I vaguely remember) was pretty subjective. It sure works for me.

I have no idea why anyone would dislike it.

More importantly, if you like it, go for it. It's a versatile, tasteful summer fabric.

Where do you think I got the idea? Read all three threads already =). I think it's a great idea - I just don't want to go navy since I have several suits in navy already, and don't want to make another rookie mistake when going bespoke. Planning to have this one made by NSM.

I see the Foo puff is taking hold. I just can't shake that it reminds me of those fabric roses on bridal gowns...

Very much in good taste, zb. Thanks for posting.

Can the BlazerSuit and cloth discussion be taken to the Unfunded Liabilities thread? It's really off-topic here.

Thanks. I use Freddy Vandecasteele, a shirtmaker in Los Angeles.

I tried it out a few times and I couldn't make myself like it. I found that if I did the foo-fold but purposefully did it badly then I liked it more. Looked more randomly stuffed in without looking like a mess. The foo-fold itself just looks too neat and tidy.

Bromer, once again, a near miss for me. The tones up top just wash out too much and blend together. I think that may not be a terrifically good tie for a blue shirt. Better with pink, white or cream. Or maybe a stripe with some white in it. or, if you are doing to do that S&T combo, a darker jacket without that same shade of blue in it.

Sure, sorry about hi-jacking the thread. Foo's perfect blazer recipe got me going.

No, it's perfectly fine. The cloth and details you pick for a bespoke order are good discussion points for exploring good taste.

520 is a great shade, I have it myself. It's not navy, though, it's quite a bit lighter. I would say that it does have a slightly gray cast. Anyway, the point is, if you want something you can use as a totally classic in every way blazer, that is not it.
