1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Oh, well thanks to Mafoo and Manton too, they're obviously the big drivers here.

Fuuma, sorry to disappoint but it was an odd jacket - brown flannels below...

Fuuma, even if this were a navy odd jacket, what would be wrong with this?

it is not even suiting cloth, really - sort of a napped hopsack. and has patch hip pockets and horn buttons.

Ok, went back a little bit and saw, this and went :brick:

This is exactly why CM needs this thread, why would you dress like a serious young urban lawyer or whatever then wear brown suede shoes to add a hint of, I dunno nonchalance or casual, fucking up the whole thing? This is the novelty ties of outfits.Oh and wear a white ps until you can select something not totally ugly and too matchy-matchy with your tie.

What the point of the tie matching the pants? Would be better with something else. I must say grey jacket with navy pants looks jarring, even though I was ok with it before SF. Still ok with, say, a horseblanket brown jacket with navy pants and heavy brown shoes.

tie is navy cashmere, shirt is in fact oxford. :)

maybe this pic is better for illustrating that? jacket color is a bit washed out here, was better in the original pics, but shirt and tie are better here.

This is everything that is bad about the forum (according to this thread) in one picture. Loafers with everything, rumpled instead of worn-in, suit without a tie, braces cause, duuudde it's bespoke I can order whatever the fuck I want and I want it all.

    Nothing?

jacket fabric+casual details for a suit: Is there a problem with what people would call a country or casual suit? Certainly not in certain contexts and countries, correct me if I am wrong...

Just to be clear I don't post about what I like/wear or what can work according to other views of menswear, just about what is in "good taste", as generally agreed upon here. I care very little about good taste myself but it's certainly an interesting and worthy pursuit if approached correctly.

Pocket square is white linen. Otherwise, the colors are fairly accurate.

I don't object to Diaz's jacket. I would object if the pants were a really foggy and varigated flannel. The color needs to be fairly uniform. I have a jacket close to that color and I like to wear with with brown brushed cotton pants.

Holland and Sherry Viceroy. Color is rather uniform, well, as uniform as a woollen flannel can be [IMG]

Can't stand the shirt, but I love the donegal suit, the tie, and the shoes.

Maomao looks great and perfectly acceptable for this thread. All he needs (arguably) are some navy socks.

This is an irrational prejudice. I hope people know enough to ignore it.

I know it's a traditional English country shirt. It just looks to me like it was borrowed from the set of All Creatures Great and Small.

    Suede loafers with a suit?
Wide open shirt and no tie w. suit too?
    Suit in rumpled fabric?

IMHO it's a little bit like Viktor's outfits; maybe you like or dislike them and he obviously has very clear goals in mind (look at how similar the colours of everything are in his last outfit) and executes them well but it has nothing to do with this thread and even goes against it. There's a very good reason I don't post outfits here and that is because I hardly dress "in good taste", I think I wore something appropriate just once in 2013.
