1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

A large gingham is way too busy to wear with a patterned tweed. It's also too spring/summery to wear with a heavy, textured cloth. Wear it with a dark blue or tan suit or with a blue blazer.

Thanks. If I can wear it with a navy blazer or suit, then I am ok with it

I wouldn't wear with a navy suit. I think it's either a tan suit as Canta suggested, or on its own with jeans, maybe under a cardigan or something. If not for the strong summer associations of gingham, I'd suggest wearing it under a donegal jacket, but tattersall would be the more natural partner.

i will most definitely not be burning it. i may sell it, i could even donate it, but destroying clothing is not a good thing to do imo. i do though have one more combination i would like to try it with. we shall see.

Here's Beppe wearing something similar, albeit on a smaller scale, with a tan suit.

That part is good. The problem is he's still wearing his goddamn red socks, even with that.

First pic looks better than the second, so I'll judge that one. It's a solid effort, Z. No problems to me. But the tie in the second shot looks awfully close to the jacket.

    Final score: :foo::foo::foo:

Yes to the shirt, no to pairing it with the jacket. That shirt is casual. wear with denim or chinos.

Z, I think that looks great. It is an Ed outfit if I have ever seen one, right down to the hint of colonoscopy bag in the pants.

I've been catching up on the last 40 pages or so over the last couple of days - this thread has become a real gem since Foo decided to act the enlightened despot. The more ruthless, the better! Might even overcome my lurking tendencies and subject myself to his judging one of these days.

I apologize for recycling some items used recently in other outfits, but I am working with my travel wardrobe since I am away from home and it is considerably more limited than what I usually have available. Anyway, I am trying to apply some of foo's recommendations in terms of pattern density. I think I might have chosen a different PS if I had all my squares available. Anyway, thoughts?

Edit: I really wasn't feeling the PS above, so here is an alternate one.

I really like the look of your travel wardrobe; tweed or cashmere PWC is meant to be worn in the real world. What do you wear in Dubai?

In my opinion, this is a big improvement C. Everything now pairs well. Personally I'd prefer less square showing, but that's just me. Anyway, your camera angle is probably exaggerating it. If you are trying to use the technique I discussed on my blog, try to ensure the resulting "puff" looks less balled-up and more gently curved. Keep the square more parallel to your chest as you bend it over. Final score for both: :foo::foo::foo:

bromer that's mostly quite good, but a little too washed out with the blues up top. I think a different tie would help, or else a pink or cream shirt

Can I get a rating on my fit from yesterday? Curious about whether the white PS was a PS Fail or not :)

Will repost so you don't have to go digging... Apologies for crappy pics, again.

Is a blazer with mid-grey flannels. Tie is a darker burgundy than it appears here.
