I know what you mean. I keep picking the polo brown Belgraves in stead of my mink or dark brown suedes. And I keep picking this tie and not a navy one, mostly because of the shoes (same shade; let's say mid-brown and mid-blue). In my eyes (can you say that in English?), the contrast is pleasant.

Mustardy, golden linen would be my first pick, but I know how you feel about linen.

That tie is ludicrously ugly, like -paperbagging it after snorting 3 grams and drinking two bottles of Tequila wouldn't be enough to turn me on- ugly. The same colour or at least colours as loud do work for the pocketsquare.

How about wheat fresco? I think that is a great color. Pretty close to khaki.

Thank you and after looking at the pic I agree with solid blue. What are thoughts on madder silk and pocket square combinations. I don't like how linen pairs with it.

So, you don't like the tie?

Yeah, that would work - there is a 8/9 oz in the Smith's book.

My feeling is that if you are going to go tan/khaki/gold in the summer, you ought to go linen or cotton. Fresco, to me, is inherently more of a city/business appropriate cloth.

It's the anti-fuuma tie, I couldn't think of anything that would be in more contrast to your aesthetic.

I like the tie and square (although they seem more appropriate for the autumn / fall / winter months. Overall its a nice look, sans the shirt which I agree should be solid blue or even a pale lilac.

That makes sense. I think cotton suits, especially a twill is very warm though. Almost not even worth it. imo.

I never liked the wheat frescos. The colors of the three tans in Lesser Tropical are vastly superior.

I agree - plus I'm not going to spend $6k on a cotton suit. Maybe I'll look for something MTM or OTR. How about a Solaro? I'm not sure I could pull it off...
