I think this jacket would look nice with flannel in a dark charcoal or chocolate brown, depending upon shoes and accessories.

Come on guys, blue blazers can be solid worsted and still quite tasteful.

Fresco for sure. The sheen of worsted blazers just reminds me too much of H&M and their contemporaries.

Seems like one of those rare sc for which blue/navy pants work really well. The whole getup feels "cool" rather than "warm" to me so I wouldn't do brown with this outfit, but it could work well w different shirt and tie

Charcoal or navy blue. Navy blue pants are quite versatile, despite what the iGent community would have you believe.

That's interesting, the accent colors in the SC here are a brown and a darker chocolate brown, so I would assume the coolness of the outfit is the result of my tie and shirt choice (possibly just the shirt..)?

GDL I agree with you navy flannels would work quite well with this and be tasteful.

Its not a bad look, but that does look like an orphaned suit jacket. Brown buttons would help. Patch pockets would help even further.

Worsted blazers are, in my mind, inextricably connected with Brooks, Jos A Bank, and house brands of department stores up and down market. It's such a common look but never done well.

If it's very well cut (and maybe in an interesting style - Napoli, not Savile Row), it could definitely look good. But I feel like the it would still look better with some texture / surface interest.

I figure with a worsted blazer, you have to wear worsted trousers and then, why not just wear a suit.

There are zero instances in my life where a tie is appropriate but a suit is not so that definitely colors my view of this.

    I agree.

Clapey looks good because he's thin and everything fits well but that is an orphaned suit jacket, not a blazer.

Brown buttons would help a little. Patch pockets on a worsted would hurt IMO. The only worsted that can possibly take patch pockets are the Porter & Harding faux tweeds.

I do prefer, all else being equal, a blazer fabric to have some texture. However, I would not call a smooth worsted blazer in bad taste, however common they are.

I would also say that while fresco or hopsack takes brown or other horn buttons very nicely, I would stick with metal for smooth worsteds.
