+1. Also, the "Combining Patterns" thread.

gdl - are all of your squares silk or do you have linen as well? I like the way they look.

Most of them are cotton and/or liinen. I have silk squares too (neat prints mostly) but don't wear them often and I don't think any of the above has a silk square.

Old dog always has very good taste up top but his shoes and socks (or lack of) constantly let him down...

Yes, an anchor of sorts. I only have two pair of odd trousers that are, well, odd:

This is a flannel, but otherwise I don't know what to call it:

I don't know what to call this weave, but it is in a weird, vaguely purplish colour:

The rest of my trousers are plain (flannel, twill or worsted) charcoal, grey, british tan or wheat. Because they are simple, I find them easier to use as an anchor than shirts, where there is rather more variety.

Maybe now folks can see what some of have been complaining has been missing from MC.

Note the near-complete absence of brands from these threads.

Thanks for the comments guys - I figured #1 was kind of outside the bounds of this thread, but i thought I'd throw it in there anyway. On #3, you can't see it that great in the pic, there's a little bit of pink in those lighter circles of the tie, and the tie is enough of a mid-blue as opposed to a darker navy that I think it's springy enough to not be too business for a linen blend suit.
