I think his suits are fine for what they are, but many of the sillhouettes I find boring. Just this modern "finance-guy" cut.

Really? I think color combinations is something he understands quite well.

He posted earlier in the thread, I think. He has changed quite a bit in the last couple of years (he wrote a post about the evolution not too long ago, don't remember where). Still tends to inject one or two flashy items in the mix but has certainly toned things down. It's a process - for many SFers, there's a long phase of "kid in a candy store" where we buy a lot of pretty things and just wear them - and then we evolve from that and think in terms of the overall picture and effect.

Let's just make him submit to a color-blind test see! http://colorvisiontesting.com/ishihara.htm

FWIW, it was Spoo's tumblr presence and style that eventually pointed me to SF, with a nudge along the way by putthison (the whale pocketsquare post IIRC). He's a great ambassador for the forum IMO. Seems to me "style" is personal and unique to each individual, and we are all, at various stages, working to refine our own personal style in alignment with the man we are or (gasp) the man we want to be. Anyway, enough of the syrup.

The commentary on buidling the basics is good stuff. Onward.

He is about the only reflector of the modern men's magazine (GQ, Esquire) on here.

The rest of you, Apparel Arts (not sure about FNB guy).

I'm still waiting for the "combo" reflector (The Rake). Maybe the Ashins Boyz.

Nah. The collar points are totally under control under the jacket. I don't like how it looks when buttoned.

I have a simple solution: don't buy BD shirts. :D

Like leaving a sportcoat's working button unbuttoned on the sleeve ...

I'd say the unbuttoned collar is even more affected.
